The pork knuckle grill considers itself a gastronomic tent. The eponymous haxen want to be enjoyed to its fullest.
The pork knuckle grill is the epicenter of the Hochreiter family’s Oktoberfest trinity consisting of the Haxnbraterei, Zur Bratwurst and Kalbsbraterei. The tent’s culinary focus on pork and veal knuckle is even older than the Haxenbraterei as it’s the immediate successor of the Haxnbauer tent.
Given its focus on culinary treats, owner Dieter Hochreiter always saw his tent more like a restaurant than a beer tent and therefore didn’t have any music. Today, this is only true for the afternoon. At night, you get the typical party atmosphere you’re used to from other small tents.
