Bartls Flößerstadl

2026 is an eventful year for Oktoberfest. First and foremost, because Alexander Egger, the owner of Münchner Stubn, had the legality of the Oktoberfest tent licensing reviewed in court. Surprisingly, however, he ultimately did not sign his contract to continue operating the Münchner Stubn. As a result, the city suddenly had to find a replacement for a small tent in July, and quite spontaneously, an additional Oktoberfest novelty emerged. Klaus Bartl, who had applied for the site with his “Flößerstadl” (Rafters' Barn), immediately stepped into the breach.

The rafting theme is close to him: he runs the campground in Thalkirchen, which is located directly next to the Zentralfloßlände, the former central ending point for rafts in Munich. He serves Augustiner beer both at the restaurant there—which was recently renovated—and at the Almwirt in Haar, and he plans to continue doing so at the Oktoberfest as well. Now he must get a tent with about 400 seats up and running as quickly as possible.
