Setup for Oktoberfest begins as early as June 29. We’ll be covering the 2026 Oktoberfest setup with regular updates and new photos.
In 2026, the construction of the Oktoberfest officially begins on June 29, and takes almost 12 weeks. More complex tent constructions, but in particular the lack of manpower, make the construction companies regularly push for longer set-up and dismantling times. Depending on the construction phase, up to 2000 people work on Theresienwiese.
As usual, we accompany the Oktoberfest construction with regular new photos from the construction site. You can find the galleries at the bottom of this page.
When does the Oktoberfest Construction begin in 2026?
The construction of the Oktoberfest is divided into several phases so that the individual operations do not interfere with one another. The construction site is divided into two construction zones. Construction Zone 1 covers the main Oktoberfest area excluding street 5 and Schaustellerstraße, while Construction Zone 2 covers Oide Wiesn. After several years of regular adjustments, the schedule has now been established. Only the dismantling phase was shortened by one week in 2026. Exceptions for individual businesses are generally possible.
