The veteran landlord takes over the Winzerer Fähndl from 2026.

Arabella Schörghuber has managed the tent since 2004, initially alongside her then husband Peter Pongratz until 2019, who was the first to introduce prefixed menus in a large Oktoberfest tent. Last week, the Süddeutsche Zeitung reported that Schörghuber, daughter of the founder of the corporate group of the same name, was retiring completely from the restaurant business - for reasons of age, according to reports. This was confirmed by the brewery at today's press conference. The fact that her two children are also retiring may well come as a surprise - after all, their restaurant, the Spöckmeier, was renovated for longer than it was open during her tenure. After the tent had regularly attracted negative attention in recent years, for example due to its repeated refusal to meet the city's requirements for the redeemability of vouchers, the departure of the previous landlords is not bad news for the time being.

Winzerer Fähndl will get a new host in 2026.

An old acquaintance was introduced as the new landlord: Lorenz Stiftl has been a Wiesn landlord since 2002, initially of the Wienerwald tent, from 2008 also under his own name and since 2022 at Oide Wiesn in the Schützenlisl. He was one of the most promising candidates for all new tents last year. Now he has arrived, in the restaurant Olymp. He will return to Spöckmeier in June and take over Winzerer from 2026.

Consequently, Oide Wiesn will need a replacement for Schützenlisl as of next year as well.
