Shake & Roll

Shake & Roll, one of the new rides of the Oktoberfest 2026, isn’t exactly new to many Oktoberfest visitors. This type of ride was actually featured at Oktoberfest from 1994 to 2010 under the name “Insider.” Now, the prototype of the “Shake”—as its manufacturer Mondial calls it—is returning to Oktoberfest as Shake & Roll.

When it was first delivered in 1991, it could be described as a kind of breakdance with swinging gondolas. It wasn’t until 1993 that the rollover—a feature familiar from the Insider—was added. Since then, the gondolas have been able to swing freely back and forth to such an extent that they occasionally even roll over.
