Once a fixture on fairgrounds all over the country, illusionists are now mainly a thing of the past. “Revue der Illusionen” keeps classic illusions alive. This sideshow is not part of the Oktoberfest anymore. Although “Revue der Illusionen” is a child of the 80s, it’s still an old-school fair attraction. Up until the post-war era, Oktoberfest still had a large number of theaters showing the biggest women of the world, two-headed humans or exhibitions displaying wax figures of murderers or diseases. Plain abnormity shows have shifted from fairground to TV a long time ago. That having said, the Revue of Illusions concentrates on classic illusions like levitation or women, who are missing essential parts of their bodies (although being children of “normal” parents). Generations have marveled at women missing heads or lower bodies and the Revue der Illusionen makes sure, following generations can do so, too.
